Illustration of cross section of eye

Presbyopia happens as we get older, the lens inside the eye loses its elasticity making it hard to focus on objects up-close. Presbyopia is age-related and usually happens around 40-45, and will occur for everyone. Reading glasses are usually required for objects or activities that involve your near vision. There are numerous optical options for correcting presbyopia such as reading glasses, progressive lenses, bifocals, mono vision contacts, multifocal contact lenses. Surgical options are an excellent choice and are also available.
