What Are the Laser Correction Options for Correcting Less-than-Perfect Vision?

Today, laser vision correction surgeries offer more alternatives to improve less-than-perfect vision than ever before. These procedures use a laser to help correct your cornea’s shape. Some of the most common surgeries are LASIK (laser-assisted in situ keratomileusis) and PRK (photorefractive keratectomy).

Are You a Candidate for Laser Vision Correction Surgery?

If you are an adult interested in exploring the possibility of improving your eyesight and being free of glasses or contacts, you may want to consider the benefi ts of laser vision correction surgery. Some of the requirements in order to have one of these surgeries are:

  • Your prescription has not changed within
    the last year
  • You do not have very large pupils
  • You do not have thin corneas
  • You do not suffer from dry eye

Unfortunately, not everyone is a candidate for laser vision correction surgery. You should first check with your doctor to see if this procedure is right for you. You should also let your doctor know if you are taking any medications or have any medical conditions because sometimes these may affect your doctor’s decision to perform surgery.
